Must-Have Items to Pack for Disney World with Kids

Packing for Disney World with kids can feel like a full-time job. Between unpredictable weather, long park days, and keeping little ones entertained, having the right gear can make all the difference.

As a Disney travel expert and mom, I’ve learned firsthand which items are worth packing—and which just take up valuable stroller space. If you’re planning a trip with little ones, these must-have products will keep your family comfortable, entertained, and stress-free so you can focus on making magical memories.

1. Disposable Ponchos – Stay Dry Without the Bulk

Florida weather is unpredictable—one minute it’s sunny, the next you’re caught in a downpour. Instead of packing bulky raincoats, grab a pack of disposable ponchos for the whole family.

  • Lightweight and easy to carry
  • Perfect for those surprise rain showers
  • Can be used to cover strollers during rainstorms
  • Stay dry on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!

You can find my favorite poncho mutipacks from Amazon here

2. Portable Fans – Beat the Heat

Disney World is magical, but Florida heat can be overwhelming. If you’re visiting in warmer months, a portable fan is a lifesaver for both kids and adults. I love these cute Mickey-shaped fans!

Clip-on stroller fans work well for little ones, while handheld rechargeable fans are great for the whole family. Look for ones with:

  • Adjustable speeds
  • A rechargeable battery
  • A strong clip for strollers

These will keep everyone comfortable, even on the hottest park days. Get my favorite long-lasting stroller fan here and these adorable Mickey shaped fans here

3. FuelRod Portable Chargers – Never Run Out of Battery

This is hands down my favorite Disney hack EVER. Between snapping photos, using the My Disney Experience app, and mobile ordering meals, your phone battery will drain quickly. That’s where FuelRod portable chargers come in.

  • Available for purchase at kiosks in all four parks
  • Unlimited free swaps—just trade your used FuelRod for a fully charged one at any kiosk
  • Saves the hassle of carrying multiple chargers and cords

A fully charged phone is essential for checking ride times, booking Lightning Lane selections, and capturing magical moments. I absolutely love the convenience of using a FuelRod around Disney World. You can literally swap it out as many times as you want and there are locations all around, no matter where you are.

4. Silicone Bib and Placemat – Mess-Free Disney Dining

Disney is full of amazing dining options, but eating out with little ones can be challenging. A silicone bib and placemat make meals much easier.

  • Easy to wipe clean—no messy fabric bibs
  • Placemat keeps food off the table
  • Rolls up small and fits easily in a diaper bag

These are especially useful at quick-service restaurants where tables may not always be freshly wiped down or to curb the mess when we need a Mickey Bar Break. Simple Modern is my favorite brand for all kiddo dining related things, and I love that they offer Disney prints! I adore the Simple Modern Silicone placemat (its grippy on the bottom so it doesnt slide around, easy to clean, and rolls up small) and the Mickey Mouse silicone bib

5. Melissa & Doug Play 2 Go Set – Keep Kids Entertained

Waiting in line, sitting at a restaurant, or taking long stroller rides can be tough on little ones. The Melissa & Doug Play 2 Go Set is perfect for keeping kids entertained throughout the day.

  • Compact and travel-friendly
  • Kids can create ice cream, cake, or cookie combinations
  • Great for park breaks, dining waits, and the plane ride home
  • Screen-free play

Having a small activity on hand can help keep kids engaged and happy during slower moments.

6. Changing Pad – A Must-Have for Babies

If you’re traveling with a baby, a portable changing pad is essential. While Disney bathrooms do have changing tables, they can be:

  • Crowded
  • Not always the cleanest
  • Inconvenient if you need a quick diaper change

A foldable, wipeable changing pad allows you to change your baby anywhere, whether it’s in a baby care center or a quiet corner in the park.

Packing the right Disney essentials can make all the difference in how smooth and stress-free your trip feels. With these must-have products, you’ll be prepared for rain, heat, long days, and toddler messes so you can focus on enjoying the magic.
